Hello there Sweetie Pies!
So I thought you'd all like to know a little about me and why I created this blog.
My name is Brunilda, but please call me Bruni. I'm an eighteen year old college student with a hell of a sweet tooth. Seriously, give me a large bag of peanut MnM's and they'll be gone in about an hour. I'd like to think of myself as the Dean Winchester of the culinary world (any Supernatural fans out there?) as my favorite dessert is pie. Apple pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, cherry pie; as long as it's some kind of delicious filling encased in buttery, flaky layers of crust, I'll love it.
My family is pretty big on celebrating the new year, we're not religious so in a way it's our Christmas. This year, I spent all day baking with my mom. She made her fantastic, all-by-hand-made (even the filo dough!) baklava and I made a cherry pie and tried my hand at French macaroon cookies. Needless to say, I will not be attempting the macaroons again anytime soon. As soon as I finished welcoming in 2013, I went back to where I had an apple pie waiting to be put in the oven. As I went to wait for it to finish baking I started to think about how awesome it would be to have a freshly baked pie every week. Then I realized that it would be a great idea for a blog.
So here I am, every week I will be sharing a different pie recipe with you readers (who I've dubbed Sweetie Pies). I will also be sharing whatever little tips and tricks I can dig out of my mind.
I find making pies really relaxing. And eating pies isn't so bad either. So instead of making new years resolutions that I know I'll break after the first week (come on, there's only so long you can go without chocolate), maintaining this pie blog will be my goal for this year.
I hope you guys will join me on my journey to make 52 different pies this year. I also hope that you'll be trying out these recipes, since a life without pie is a very dull life.
Thank you for your time Sweeties!
- Bruni
P.S.- The name for my blog, Born to Pie, was suggested to me by one of my good friends, Hannah. Here's a shout out to you, Hannah! Thanks again!
P.P.S- Enjoy this photo of the cherry pie I made for new year's.
